Purchasing your computers, hardware, and other IT related supplies/peripherals through CNS ensures the equipment is compatible with existing equipment, meets SUNY ESF's minimum standards, is designed for use in a research and university environment, and has the best possible price. In addition, we are best able to support your use of computers and other hardware in your role at the university if you follow SUNY ESF standards and recommendations.
Not all brands and types of notebooks, desktops and tablets are meant to be used in a professional setting nor can they be easily supported by the campus IT staff. CNS recommendations for Windows and Apple devices are:
